Buddy

You told me that there was
no beginning nor end.
I believed you.

You taught me that
there is more to life
than to forgive —
and forget.

Maybe it was the enchanting
notes on your violin.
That mini orchestra played for
the very first time and I knew
right then and there that —
it was so over for me.

It was good, like warm molten
lava cake with a scoop of vanilla
ice cream kind of good.
Holy hell this world is full of wonders.

I thought that I could not
be decorated, weaved,
or embroidered ever again.
But then you called me “buddy.”

So I bought a ticket
and went along for the ride.
It leads to nowhere, but — at least
now we get to sit together.
